Conde Nast: 'Cyprus is the best Med island'
Cyprus has been named the best island in the Mediterranean this week by top holiday publication Conde Nast Traveller. It beat Hvar in Croatia, Malta and Sicily in Italy to the number one spot, after being described by the publication as boasting "world-class spas, gourmet restaurants and designer interiors". "There are stunning archaeological gems, vast frescoed tombs, Byzantine monasteries and golden beaches to be discovered," says Conde Nast.
While taking luxury holidays in Cyprus, travellers may want to check into the Anassa hotel, which is located 45 minutes outside of Paphos. The resort was featured in Conde Nast Traveller's top ten beach hotels earlier this year.
Furthermore, in 2007 Tatler magazine called the hotel a "glamorous spa sensation", which "runs like honey". Anassa, said Tatler, has a spa which provides guests with 100 per cent chemical-free products that boast "deeply enveloping" natural scents. The resort's success has been a year-on-year sensation, with Food and Travel 2006 calling the hotel the "IT Girl of the Mediterranean hotel scene".
