CITIZENSHIP

Acquisition of Cypriot citizenship is possible in the following ways:

1) Completion of 7 years (7 *365 days) of legal residence in Cyprus.

2) Completion of 5 years ( 5*365 days) of legal residence in Cyprus, having permanent residence status under category 6.2 (PR 6.2).

3) Completion of 5 years ( 5* 365 days) of legal residence in Cyprus, having a work permit status in a foreign interest company (BCS).

4) Completion of at least 3 years of marriage of the third country national with a Cypriot citizen and legal residence in Cyprus for at least 2 years prior to the submission of the application or.

5) Completion of at least 3 years of marriage of the third country national with a Cypriot citizen, for a couple who does not reside in Cyprus but with a relevant letter and documents that can justify their absence from Cyprus.

6) Naturalisation on the basis of origin.
